Controversial aspects in the 21 centuty lifestyle!

Advantages and Disadvantages of the tewntieth century Lifestyle.

Advantages:

We developed a lot the medical science and we can live for 85-90 years now. Everyone can read or write there's less ignorance now (even if I’m not so sure about that....) because everyone can read a book and find out whom we are, our history, the roots of our culture. We can travel quite safely and know other cultures, and this is very important because before going outside in space we should really know first who we really are. Socrates said “know you. “That’s important. We can communicate even if i live in Colombia and you live in the USA, and I’m able to know things about you as you're able to know things about me. We finally realised that racism is one of the worst thing in our society and know we know that we're all equal. We realised how could be dangerous a war and we created ONU the keep the world in balance (even if there's still someone who can't understand it).and we realised that we have to be carefully about our world and the nature.

Disadvantages:

In the last years we can see that people are losing their roots and they're caring only about the external part of themselves. I don't want to criticise Americans, but here in Colombia I see American TV shows like sweet sixteen on mtv, and they are terrible. In that show people do a party just to show that they got a lot of money, just to show that they are winners and not losers. That’s terrible. You have to build your personality, to improve your culture. You’re a good person if you can use your head not if you got money....what the others think of you is not as important as what you think of yourself. Of course I’m sure that in USA not all people think that such shows are good. But it's not a good example to give to the youth. Another disadvantage of the twentieth century lifestyle, are work conditions which nowadays we can see a really clear example of how bad they are ,if we look at China where work conditions are too bad that even Human Rights took position in this situation. With a world so globalized it takes us to another disadvantage, which is the loss of identity that is very common in young people, where several communication medias, such as internet, T.V, radio, among others, are getting into the people´s minds deeper, changing their minds and making them act, dress, and talk, in ways that are not related with their own cultures.
Anyway...I think it's a good time to live in. We are free now; freer than 1000 years ago and freedom is the most important thing in a modern society.

Culture Shocks

There are many differences between all countries like language, people, race and the most important, culture. Culture understands all the expressions of a society, each one has different manners of living, that’s the reason why, for foreign people, is so difficult to operate with a society. Anyway people who succeed at the experience have many opportunities in the entirely word besides from the personal beating.

When people travel for studying or living suffer anxiety, disorientation, confusion, and many other feelings which make them fail in some things that may be they were good in their native countries. Those not alone feelings are toward the productive part, there are also in the emotional one and this can make that the performance of each person decreases significantly. There are a lot of cultural shocks that people may face when they enter to other countries like food, drinks, the way to eat or drink, all the gestures, belives and more.

On the other hand, when people travel and have these cultural shocks, learn the culture of the country easier than if they learn it in themselves country, for that reason travel is the best way to learn a culture. Make work or study exchanges is an excellent experience for living new things which will serve us for the future.

Concluding, travel to another country could be very hard, the culture can be very different to that of us, but there are many forms to adapt us and thinking about the results that we will obtain of this experience is a good option to continue ahead.
